...and so, I have the answer to a familial conundrum. My oldest brother has a far higher IQ than I, but he only completed a bachelor's degree from a not-particularly-difficult state college, whereas I ultimately completed a PhD from a highly respected and well known university.

Not to mention his emotional intelligence knows no excess at all...

IQ testing has always been a bogus way of determining intelligence, particularly FUNCTIONAL intelligence. What it comes down to is what is functional in a given culture.
