At the same time, atheists are not free of pedophiles nor of men who sexually harass, abuse, and rape women. With all the talk about the Catholic priest pedophiles, I keep hearing the same refrain among atheists: religion is the culprit, as if atheism is the antidote — even a prophylactic — to pedophilia and other forms of sexually predatory behavior.

Frankly, I personally know different. I mean, PERSONALLY [in caps denoting anger…no…RAGE].

And one of your atheist icons, Richard Dawkins, “defends ‘mild pedophilia’ [saying] it does not cause ‘lasting harm’.” [Author, Katie McDonough, who could be classified as conservative relgioius only in an alternate universe where up is down, black is white, and trump is a good president.]

I get really tired of the kinds of arguments being made by atheists about religion as a primary [if not THE] cause of pedophilia, especially given that the vast majority of sexual abuse of children happens in the home, where the ratio of atheist abusers likely mirrors the same percentage of pedophiles as there are in the general population].

I write more on the subject here…

Pedophilia, the Catholic Church, and Faith
