Fact is, the USA is not a deeply religious country. We just have a lot of clowns running around pretending they are in charge. The majority of Americans may identify as "Christian" but you will rarely see that majority inside a church except for Christmas and Easter.

These public god-rockers and people-shamers are a minority, They seem to be more than they really are because they tend to be loud and obnoxious, drawing attention to themselves whenever they can.

*U.S. Church Membership Falls Below Majority for First Time*

Church membership has fallen from a high of 76% in 1945 to 47% now, a drop of 1/3. The dropout rate has increased most rapidly from 1990 (68%) to 47% in 2020--a drop of 30%+ in 30 years.

The most rapid decline has been 2010 - 2020: a drop of about 23% in 10 years.

So the dropout rate has been growing exponentially.

See, the USA is "going to hell in a hand basket." (sarcasm)
