Here’s my take on “everything happens for a reason.”

God has no plan. She’s just making up stuff as she goes along. And oh, BTW, she’s ADHD and is always losing track of what’s going on, because that’s just the way she is. But she’s a very interesting character & always has great stories to tell.

But the lessons are in her stories, not in the lives of the people she loves. She doesn’t use people as punishment for someone els’s bad deed. That would be exceedingly cruel…like, say, a woman has a baby who dies soon after birth…so God supposedly made that baby die so her mom could learn a lesson?

Balderdash! God is not that cruel.

The best help she can give you is to just listen & understand the feelings you have. Just like any good, loving friend.
