Marley, my Pollyanish white girl persona wishes dearly that I could honestly argue with your analysis. But my Pollyana personality has shrunk rapidly since January 6 this year. My roiling stomach tells me that everything you say is true no matter how much I wish it weren't. In many ways I am glad that, at 72, I won't have to live in this mess any more. But then there are my daughter and 5 grandchildren, who I know will be on the righteous side.

And "the beating goes on."
