I have identified with socialist/marxist solutions to the serious issues that face not just the USA but the entire world. I guess you could call me a "trained Marxist" and you can blame the University of Iowa, particularly (tho not only), the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (PhD 1994). Heck, Marxist/socialist/feminist theory grounds the very foundation of my 1994 dissertation.
